Frequently asked questions
What is Seeking PoEWhat PoE DoesWhat PoE Does Not DoPrivacyUse Cases Optional CapabilitiesVerification and Trust
What does PoE stand for and what is it?
Seeking PoE stands for Proof of Effort. It is a human effort attestation system. During a writing
session, PoE observes how you interact with your document — timing, editing patterns, and
activity flow — and produces a tamper-proof file that records those characteristics. That file is
evidence that the work shows patterns consistent with genuine human effort.
What problem does PoE solve?
Most verification tools focus on what was created, who created it, or whether a user is a bot.
None of them answer the question: does this work reflect genuine human effort? PoE answers
that question by producing a portable, verifiable record of the behavioral characteristics of a
writing session.
How would I describe PoE in plain language?
PoE is a tamper-evident record of how a piece of writing came to exist. It captures the shape of
the effort — the timing of events, how they are distributed, and what kinds of interactions
occurred — without capturing what was written or who wrote it. The record can be attached to
the document and verified by anyone, at any time.
